 A Door Supervisor licence is required if youare performing this activity on behalf of yourself or your employer or yourservices are supplied for the purposes of or in connection with any contract toa consumer.

Required Qualifications for Door Supervisors

Level 2 National Certificate in Door Supervision

Our training course emphasises the realities of Door Supervision and theduties you may undertake in licensed venues. The Door Supervisor Trainingcourse uses practical real life scenario's to prepare individuals for the joband not just pass a test.   After completing the Door Supervisors courseand being issued with an SIA licence a Door Supervisor can work in many areasof the Security Industry from ranging from Security Guarding through to Event Security. 

Who is the course for?

For those wishing to begin work as a Door Supervisor you must first obtain your SIA licence. On successful completion of the course, and passing the required examinations, delegates will be able to apply for Door Supervisor licence which will allow the individual to operate as both a Security Guard and Door Supervisor.

What are the entry requirements?

There are none; however candidates should have the basic levels of English literacy and numeracy.

SIA Criminality Criteria

If you have a criminal record, it does not necessarily mean that you will not get a licence.

However, if you do have any convictions, warnings, cautions, absolute/conditional discharges, admonishments or charges awaiting trial for offences we will make our decision according to:

• Whether the offences are included in the lists of offences on pages 61 to 78 of Get Licensed;
• The classification of seriousness of the offences (the lists on pages 61 to 78 of Get Licensed classify offences according to degrees of seriousness);
• The actual sentence or disposal given to you for the offence
• How recent the offences were

Who Needs a Security (guard) Licence?

A Security licence is required when manned guarding activity that does not fall under the descriptions of door supervision, close protection, cash and valuables in transit, or public space surveillance (CCTV) is undertaken.This applies only if your services are supplied for the purposes of or in connection with any contract to a consumer.

This qualification has been developed to meet the Core Competency Training and Qualification specification for Security Guarding set by the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
